Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Magdeburg

Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Magdeburg

SafeTrAIn

SafeTrAIn

Machine Learning (ML) is currently viewed as the most promising approach for autonomous driving. In safety-critical contexts, like autonomous rail vehicles, ML models have to be provenly robust in order to, for example, detect vehicles on roads reliably. The project SafeTrAIn ( Website) aims to set the foundation for the safe deployment of ML models in autonomous rail vehicles, thereby taking steps towards utilizing ML models in autonomous vehicles in general.

Auto-SAFE

Auto-SAFE

Goal of the Auto-SAFE project is to foster the transfer of scientific verification algoirhtms for model-based, safety-critical, software-intensive systems into an industrial context. Therefore, the project scope is to define a semantically sound transformation from one to two different, in industrial scenarios broadly used, modeling languages (e.g. Matlab Simulink) into the input language domain of state-of-the-art model verification tools and provide safety-relevant analysis algorithms. In general, this will enable system designers to already validate their system design against roboustness and safety targets during the modeling rather than in a far later step of the system development.

Trajectory Description Language

Trajectory Description Language

This project is about programming industrial robots. Today, industrial robots are almost exclusively used in large batch series production. Small and medium enterprises hardly use robots, because programming the robots is very time-consuming and expensive.

VIP-MoBaSA

VIP-MoBaSA

More and more functions in complex technical systems are realized in software. This leads to the term of "software-intensive systems". However, many of these systems require highest dependability standards as system failure might cause injuries or even deaths. Traditional techniques for safety analysis and methods for software design are no longer sufficient. In academia, and particularly in our research group, several new model-based methods to solve this problem have been developed in the last decade.
